Background

68,000 square feet

The new school for Brooklyn College’s Media Arts Technology program provides instruction in digital film production. LEDs were cost prohibited at the time of the project however, the design team felt that the aesthetics of using an exposed fluorescent tube worked well with the raw appearance of the building. A simple solution of using this same lighting instrument in different ways throughout the school helped to meet budget constraints while also meeting the needs of students and design goals of the architect.
